Photo Contest: Rules, Terms and Conditions
Haeleum invites photographers to enter its First Annual Photography Competition. You must read the following rules, terms and legal conditions before submitting any photos! Click here to read the legal conditions.
Haeleum’s First Annual Digital Photography Competition (the "Contest") is open to ALL photographers at least 18 years of age, except employees of Haeleum and the immediate families of such employees. The contest is open to all participants regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation.
WHAT TO ENTER:
We are looking for striking digital images of our customers wearing a Haeleum garment. Your images may be taken anywhere in the world. We are especially interested in images that showcase our product in cool extreme locations across our planet, including all types of forests, grasslands, lakes and rivers, deserts and arid lands, rainforests, marine habitats and coral reefs.
All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single "High Dynamic Range" image are acceptable. Images that do not meet these requirements may or may not be judged at the judging panel's sole discretion.
Photo captions must accompany all submissions, and should include the subject of the image, the location the image was taken, and the name of the photographer(s).
HOW TO ENTER:
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY, AND A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Any photo submitted electronically to Hæleum's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/Haeleum between July 11th, 2011 and October 31st, 2011 is automatically elidgable.
ELIGIBILITY AND JUDGING:
Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old (19 years old if a resident of AL or NE; 21 years old if a resident of DC, NY or MI) and who have internet access and photo capturing capabilities as of 7/11/11. Employees, officers and directors of Sponsor, Haeleum, LLC, their respective parent and affiliate companies and advertising and promotion agencies, as well as members of the immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children, and each of their respective spouse, regardless of where they reside) or households (whether related or not) of any of the above are NOT eligible to participate. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void outside the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and where prohibited. Entrants are responsible for complying with these Official Rules.
To ensure eligibility for the contest, all entries must have a resolution of 3 million pixels or greater (3 megapixels) to be made available upon request. Images that do not meet this standard can still be judged, but might not be honor from the competition (at the judges sole discretion) if the photographer is unable or unavailable to provide the proper resolution when asked.
Resolution can be calculated by multiplying the pixel width of the image with the pixel height. For example, a photograph taken with a 6-megapixel camera set for the highest resolution and best quality produces images approximately 2048 pixels by 1536 pixels, which are acceptable under the rules (2048 x 1536 = 3 million).
Entries may originate in any format — including, but not limited to digital files, digital prints, color transparencies, color prints, or black and white prints -- so long as they are submitted electronically.
Entry receiving the greatest number of "Likes" at http://www.facebook.com/Haeleum as of noon (PST) November 1, 2011 will be awarded a $200 credit toward Haeleum apparel purchased through Haeleum's online store at http://www.haeleum.com/
DEADLINES:
Online entries can be uploaded starting 12:01 am Eastern Standard Time on July 11, 2011. Deadline for submitting entries is 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on October 31, 2011.
Entrants may be asked to supplement their submission (such as a paragraph about their photo, the highest resolution version of their photo, or a watermark-free version of their photo) anytime on or after November 1, 2011. Finalists will be announced on or before January 1, 2012
CONTEST PRIZES:

YOUR RIGHTS:
You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit -- including ownership if applicable. You only grant Haeleum rights (as described below) to your photograph if you are honored by the competition as an honorable mention, finalist, runner up or grand prize winner. If your photograph is formally honored by the competition as an honorable mention, finalist, runner up or grand prize winner, you grant Haeleum a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:
- Use the photograph on the Internet in support of our mission.
- Use the photograph in Haeleum’s non-commercial communications.
- Use, in connection with the Photo Contest, your name, city, state and country of residence in promotions and other publications.
- Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.
