Ultra runner Tony Portera finishing Badwater

Tony Portera

Tony Portera is an ultra runner based out of White Plains, New York. Since picking up running in 2005, he has completed 22 marathons and 48 ultra marathons, including 20 of 100 miles in length or longer. He is a three-time finisher of the "world's toughest footrace," the Badwater Ultramarathon and a two-time finisher of the Brazil 135. In January of 2011 he and friends Chris Roman and Jarom Thurston became the first to run the entire length of Brazil's Caminho da Fe, logging approximately 345 miles in just over 7 days (which included a straight-through run of the Brazil 135) in an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
